No. 10: DB Derwin James (Florida State)

Florida State defensive back Derwin James is one of the draft’s best overall prospects. Known for his freakish athleticism, James had many eyes locked on him during the NFL combine.

James possesses a rare combination of size, strength and speed, which makes him a standout player in this year’s draft. The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound safety validated his physical attributes with his superb performance at the event.

James posted a 4.47 40-yard-dash time showcasing his incredible speed on the field. His athleticism was evident as James recorded a 40-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump.

In addition, James put up 21 repetitions of the 225-pound bench press to prove his power.

NFL.com, along with several other analysts and scouts, compared James with Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry. With a strong upside and great leadership to go alongside his physical traits, James will undoubtedly be a major target in the draft.

After posting outrageous numbers at the combine, James furthered his case of being a true first-round talent and a potential star in the next level.
