2018 NFL Scouting Combine: the 49ers look for running backs
By Joseph Naki
Nyheim Hines, NC State
Special teams player! That’s all he will amount, too!
I’m sure this is what people across the nation are saying about Nyheim Hines of North Carolina State.
Yes, its true, Hines returns kicks, returns punts and plays running back. Oh, and he was a track star in college as well.
Per NFL.com:,
"Between his freshman and sophomore years, Hines ran the 100 meters and 4×100-meter relay for State, earning All-American and All-ACC honors."
What could NFL teams possibly want with a track guy on their roster? Not sure how any of Hines talents are a hindrance for a football player to make an NFL roster.

Hines blew up the 40-yard dash at the combine, running a 4.38.
You’ve got to be kidding me? That is lightning in a bottle.
Can Hines get on the perimeter for Kyle Shanahan? Yes. Listed at 5-foot-8, is he undersized? Maybe. However, the word versatile hits on all cylinders when describing Hines.
Hines is expected to come off the big board by the end of the fourth round. Would John Lynch make a move for this young man? We will have to wait and see.
