The New York Jets wish they would have won the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes. With that not being the case in this mock NFL Draft, they’ll have to turn to their first pick in Round 1 to make a splash.

It’s a decision likely between Wyoming’s Josh Allen and USC’s Sam Darnold.

While both have their ups and downs, Darnold looks to have the higher ceiling and ability to play in a big-market town like New York. We’ll get to Allen’s question marks in a moment.

With the Jets appearing to be headed in the right direction, a quarterback with more talent overall makes sense here.

So, Darnold it is.
