2018 NFL Draft: Full Round 1 mock for all 32 teams amid NFL Scouting Combine
By Peter Panacy
As expected in this NFL Draft, there’s an early run on quarterbacks. And with the New York Giants looking to find an heir apparent to Eli Manning sooner than later, UCLA’s Josh Rosen still winds up being the guy.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. dropped Rosen down to No. 11 in his latest mock. But that big a slip, especially for such a QB-needy team like New York, is just too hard to fathom.
Why? Well, the Giants aren’t exactly in a market tolerant of sub-par football play. Top-five picks in the NFL Draft may only come around once in a great while for the Giants, meaning general manager David Gettleman won’t pass up the opportunity to grab a player like Rosen.
It also helps Rosen is one of the more polished passers in this year’s draft class, helping ensure the transition from Manning goes smoothly.
