The Detroit Lions elected to slap EDGE Ezekiel Ansah with the franchise tag, meaning they won’t have to look for outside pass-rushers as much this offseason.

One of the key ways for newly minted head coach Matt Patricia to maximize Ansah’s abilities, though, would be to add some bulk along the interior of the defensive line.

This is where Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea comes into play.

Vea isn’t exactly a pass-rushing specialist. But his 6-foot-5, 340-pound frame is big enough to lock up multiple blockers, therefore allowing Ansah to have more one-on-one matchups to the outside.
