Now that a championship window seems to have opened, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to be aggressive in the offseason to improve the roster. Which veterans will be replaced this coming year?

A week ago, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said he was going to be “aggressively prudent” in free agency this year.

Key word — “aggressive.”

The 49ers were aggressive last year in free agency, and with the third most cap space in the league this year, they are bound to be aggressive again.

However, I’m not here to talk about the new players Lynch will bring in to San Francisco in the next couple of months. I’m here to talk about the veterans (excluding pending free agents such as Carlos Hyde and Eric Reid), who won’t be on the team anymore after the front office brings in the inevitable influx of new players.

Here are five returning veterans who don’t make the Niners’ 53-man roster in 2018.
