No. 4: Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis Colts

Like Paul Richardson, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief never quite lived up to expectations after being taken in Round 3 back in 2014.

But as Niners Wire’s Chris Biderman pointed out, a lot of that could be due to the inconsistency at quarterback and poor offensive line Indianapolis has been dealing with over the past couple of years:

"Moncrief is an intriguing combination of size (6-2, 221) and speed (4.4 at his combine in 2014). But the production hasn’t been there with the Colts, which could speak to the instability along the offensive line and Andrew Luck’s rash of injuries. Moncrief averaged 38 catches for 469 yards and 4.5 touchdowns over his four seasons in Indy. The Ole Miss alum might be more of a deep threat than [Allen] Robinson, but his athleticism plays all over the field, including jump balls in the scoring area. He’s not as trustworthy as Pierre Garçon, but he offers an intriguing skillset that hybrids between Garçon and Marquise Goodwin. His talent should lend itself well to Kyle Shanahan’s offense."

Note the height, which would make Moncrief the tallest wide receiver out of San Francisco’s returning veterans.

For a team that finished 27th in red-zone touchdown percentage last year, adding Moncrief would help matters significantly.
