player. 42. . Wide Receiver. Notre Dame. Equanimeous St. Brown. 130

I was hoping San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny would fall to the 49ers at No. 130 overall. But he didn’t.

Instead, the consolation prize winds up being Notre Dame wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown.

At 6-foot-5 and 203 pounds, St. Brown would give the Niners the vital red-zone threat they so desperately need. Most of head coach Kyle Shanahan’s receivers are shorter in stature, while St. Brown is a mismatch nightmare.

It’s reflected in his tape too:

The combination of both size and speed would make this pick valuable in Round 4. He wouldn’t need to shoulder San Francisco’s receiving efforts. But his physical traits are more than enough to help solve some of the Niners’ offensive question marks.
