Center isn’t exactly a pressing need, now with veteran Daniel Kilgore returning on a three-year deal. But that doesn’t mean the 49ers interior offensive line is set in place.

Plus, a long-term option would be nice too.
Here is where Iowa center/offensive lineman James Daniels comes into play.
Daniels, 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, could stand to add some bulk. But he has excellent movement skills and is a seamless fit for zone-style schemes.
Here’s what NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein had to say about the prospect:
"Daniels is a fluid mover with tremendous initial quickness to win positioning on most every zone block he’s asked to make — both on the first and second levels. His height, weight and arm length numbers at the Combine will be critical in either solidifying his draft slot or potentially dropping him a round. Some teams might see him as a zone-only center, but he may be strong enough to fit in with other blocking schemes. He needs to get stronger, but he’s a plus run blocker and pass protector with a chance to become a Pro Bowl starter."
Depending on what happens with third-year pro Joshua Garnett and the 49ers’ actions in free agency, the O-line might not be a top priority. That would negate Daniels to San Francisco somewhat, although he would be a solid draft-and-develop piece with the potential to start at right guard in year one.
