CARSON WENTZ. 4. . Quarterback. Philadelphia Eagles

If only Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz didn’t suffer a season-ending ACL injury in Week 13 against the Rams.

Well, actually, perhaps Philadelphia doesn’t win the Super Bowl if Wentz stayed healthy. All is well that ends well, right?

At any rate, Wentz’s injury likely cut short any serious consideration the second-year quarterback had for MVP honors after 2017. He was on pace to reach that mark, ranking fourth overall in passer rating (101.9) and passing for 33 touchdowns against only seven interceptions.

The Eagles offense came alive as a result.

There’s some concern Wentz might not be ready to go for the start of the regular season, although late reports seem to be pretty optimistic. Depending on his recovery and an excellent supporting cast around him, there’s little doubt Wentz emerges as one of the premier quarterbacks of the NFL in 2018.
