Winner: Philadelphia Eagles

Yes, the Super Bowl champions are also big-time winners from the Jimmy Garoppolo deal.

Quarterback Nick Foles became a hero in Super Bowl LII, upending the Patriots and earning game MVP honors in the process. But he’s only a place holder — the backup, who more-than adequately filled in for the starter, Carson Wentz, when the latter went down with an ACL injury late in the regular season.

The Philadelphia Eagles may want to hold onto Foles in 2018, especially while wondering if Wentz will be healthy enough by the start of the season. But they’re also in a tremendous position to move Foles at a point where his stock has never been higher.

Foles is signed through 2018, but at a relatively bargain rate of just $7.6 million in total cap salary.

All those teams in need of a quarterback but not necessarily in a position to spend big may come calling. And the Eagles can sit back and ask for the biggest compensation package in return.

Foles might not be worth a first-round NFL Draft pick. A second rounder isn’t out of the question, but teams will assuredly enter a bidding war for Foles’ services.
