Niner Noise features its “doom and gloom,” looking ahead to the San Francisco 49ers’ 2018 NFL campaign and trying to predict what could possibly go wrong. This week, we’ll take the worry-worm approach.

I’m a firm believer in Murphy’s Law — the idea that what can go wrong, will.

For the San Francisco 49ers, the upcoming 2018 campaign appears to be one filled with sunshine and rainbows. The franchise is on the up and up, especially after acquiring quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for what seems like a steal.

Sure, all the buzz and hype points to the Niners winning the next 10 Super Bowls, establishing a dynasty never before seen in the annals of pro sports.

But that pessimist in me is eager to cry out (thank you, Ramblin’ Fan’s Nick Fox for the idea). What if it all goes horribly wrong? All San Francisco’s recent good fortune has to be a fluke, right? After all, the 49ers are destined for laughingstock-dom for all of eternity, right?

Perhaps that’s the side of me wondering why Niners fans can’t have nice things.

So humor me, for a moment, and let me break down why we should all worry about 2018 being a terrible, terrible year.
