No. 5: Roger Craig (Super Bowl XIX)

Running back Roger Craig was an integral part of the 49ers offense for the majority of the ’80s. Craig’s best season was in 1985 when he rushed for 1,050 yards and totaled 1,016 receiving yards.

Not only was Craig an excellent runner, he was also a reliable target for Montana especially for short passing situations.

During Super Bowl XIX, Craig helped San Francisco cruise to victory against Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins. Although Craig did not record eye-popping numbers in terms of yards, he still managed to score three touchdowns.

Craig’s three-touchdown performance received nothing but praise from fans and the media. NFL.com ranked it as the 35th best individual Super Bowl performance.

With Craig’s three touchdowns, the 49ers claimed their second title in four years and began their journey to become an NFL dynasty.
