The San Francisco 49ers are going to have some tough, on-roster decisions to make as NFL free agency approaches this spring. Niner Noise predicts which players stay or go.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are going to have some tough choices to make in NFL free agency this offseason.

Many of those are still on the Niners roster.

In total, San Francisco has 20 on-roster free agents, whose current contracts expire on March 14.

An update to the list, the Niners re-signed restricted free-agent linebacker Mark Nzeocha to a one-year deal, announced Friday. So cross him off the list of question marks.

But what about the others?

In this slideshow, we’ll go through each of San Francisco’s pending free agents and determine whether or not they’re re-signed for 2018. We’ll also pay attention to the most important question — why?
