Even with a limited supporting cast surrounding him, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo excelled in 2017, winning all five of his starts. What moves can the San Francisco 49ers make to help their franchise QB continue his winning ways in 2018?

When the San Francisco 49ers traded for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, they received a QB who was undefeated in his two starts with the talented New England Patriots. Garoppolo continued his winning ways in San Francisco, with a less-than-stellar supporting cast that accumulated just one victory in 11 tries.

Garoppolo was an instant success, winning each of the 49ers’ final five games behind the same porous offensive line, and with the same suspect offensive talent as his predecessors, quarterbacks C.J. Beathard and Brian Hoyer.

Although the 49ers can’t expect Garoppolo to remain undefeated forever, there are a number of personnel changes the team can make that will help their new franchise quarterback rack up the victories going forward.

Here are the top five moves the San Francisco 49ers can make to help Jimmy Garoppolo in 2018.
