No. 5: Extend Wide Receiver Marquise Goodwin

After four relatively lackluster years with the Buffalo Bills, 27-year-old wide receiver Marquise Goodwin looks to have found a home with the Niners.

He likely would have crested the 1,000-yard receiving plateau this season had it not been for an unfortunate concussion suffered in Week 17 versus the Los Angeles Rams. Either way, Goodwin’s 962 receiving yards marked a career high and led San Francisco’s offense.

The 49ers inked Goodwin to a two-year, $6 million deal last offseason. Instead of being just a mere speedster in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense, Goodwin actually ended up being a versatile weapon.

Especially after Jimmy Garoppolo took over at quarterback.

It’s no shock Niners Wire’s Chris Biderman listed Goodwin as a prime candidate to receive an extension this upcoming season. Doing so would ensure the 49ers’ budding receiving corps remains relatively intact beyond 2018, and Goodwin still have plenty of years left at his prime.
