San Francisco 49ers Mock Draft
FORT WORTH, TX – DECEMBER 23: Rashaad Penny #20 of the San Diego State Aztecs scores a touchdown against the Army Black Knights in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl at Amon G. Carter Stadium on December 23, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images) /

RB Rashaad Penny, San Diego State

Assuming that running back Carlos Hyde will test free agency this offseason, I used the San Francisco 49ers’ fourth pick to select Aztec running back Rashaad Penny. In 13 games last season, Penny ran for a respectable 2248 yards and 23 touchdowns.

The 220-pound Penny would be the largest of the Niners’ three running backs, and would likely share carries with 190-pound Matt Breida and 205-pound Joe Williams in 2018.
