No. 5: Elvis Dumervil Gets His 100th Sack

When it happened: Week 4 at Arizona Cardinals

Major milestones are always worth mentioning on a top-10 list, and such was the case when veteran EDGE Elvis Dumervil recorded his 100th career sack against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.

The Niners defense was in for a field day against Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer and a weak Arizona offensive line. In total, San Francisco would finish the day with six sacks and a whopping 16 quarterback hits.

Two of those went to Dumervil, and his 100th was pretty special:

Unfortunately, while the 49ers defense did its job, the offense wasn’t able to muster up much of an effort, and the Niners went on to lose 18-15.

Nonetheless, Dumervil’s first sack with the red and gold was a special one, and he’d go on to lead the defense with 6.5 quarterback takedowns in 2017.
