In a surprising turn of events, the Week 16 scheduling of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Francisco 49ers is setting up to be a rather intriguing game. Imagine saying that phrase at the beginning of this season.

It says a lot about both teams, as Jacksonville have seemingly turned a corner after years of terrible play and San Francisco have found new life.

The Jaguars, who sit at 10-4, have put together a supremely sturdy and tenacious defense which has capsulated them up the AFC ranks.

For the 49ers, a squad that is riding a three-game winning streak after starting 1-10, it is a trade deadline acquisition that has sparked a resurgence and turned around its fortunes with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
