49ers stock reports following Week 15 victory over the Titans

Cornerback Dontae Johnson
A week after having one of the most forgettable games in his pro career, cornerback Dontae Johnson didn’t provide the biggest of bounce-back performances in Week 15.
Tennessee’s typically anemic wide receiver corps managed a solid enough performance, with No. 1 wideout Rishard Matthews netting 95 yards and a touchdown, and fellow wideout Eric Decker picking up an additional 63 yards.
Not all these were against Johnson, but we saw a number of the same coverage gaffes he’s made over the course of the season.
And an illegal hands to the face call on a critical third down also wasn’t a good look:
Johnson isn’t a starting-caliber cornerback, unfortunately, and San Francisco will be pressed to find an upgrade over him this offseason.
We’ll see if he bounces back in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it’s a tall order to suggest Johnson will finish out 2017 on a high note.
