One looks at the Titans’ record, and it’s hard to imagine why they’re ranked so low in our NFL power rankings.

But that’s been the case with Tennessee all season. The Titans have gotten by with some close wins and a bit of luck here and there, not unlike the 2016 Oakland Raiders. But with a winnable game on the table in Week 14, the Titans fell apart at exactly the worst time.

Tennessee now trails the Jacksonville Jaguars, who won last week, by a game, and there’s a likely division-deciding game between these two in Week 17.

Still, the Titans needed to keep pace.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota seemingly has taken a step back this year, and his two picks in Arizona was indicative of this. And where has the receiving help been?

Biggest Question

The Titans made efforts to upgrade the wide receiver spot, grabbing Eric Decker in free agency and drafting Corey Davis. Neither have been true impact players, though.

Will Tennessee hope for Davis, a high-profile rookie, to mature and develop? Or is it back to square one?
