49ers vs. Texans: Grading San Francisco’s efforts
In his second consecutive start on the road, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo picked up his second win as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Houston Texans 26-16. Here are the full postgame grades and analysis from the matchup.
Since taking over as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been quick to establish himself as the signal-caller of the future for this team.
At first, the price paid for Garoppolo — virtually a late first-round pick due to San Francisco’s poor record — seemed steep. But now, it is looking like a bargain deal.
It is becoming more clear by the day that the 49ers have found their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. In just his second game a starter, and only a little over month removed since joining the team, Garoppolo passed for a career-high 334 yards in a 26-16 win over the Houston Texans.
San Francisco is riding a winning streak, albeit only two games. But the thought of any wining streak seemed completely illogical just a few weeks ago. With Garoppolo, the dynamic is beginning to change.
Overall, it was an exceptional showing for most aspects from the 49ers.
