49ers vs. Texans: The good, bad and ugly from San Francisco in Week 14
By Peter Panacy
The San Francisco 49ers knocked off the Houston Texans 26-16 in Week 14, meaning the Niners are on a two-game winning streak. Let’s look at the good, bad and ugly from the game.
How about that. The San Francisco 49ers have their first winning streak since 2014.
This, after the Niners knocked off the Houston Texans in Week 14 by a score of 26-16. And despite some shaky moments against Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, San Francisco looked like a complete team from top to bottom.
Well, almost.
True, there were some issues on both sides of the ball. But it’s pretty amazing to see the difference quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has made in what has turned into a nice two-game starting stretch.
Garoppolo’s presence has helped turned the offense into an effective force, all while taking pressure off the defense.
This is noteworthy, as good quarterbacks in today’s NFL make the players around them better.
It seems as if Garoppolo is falling into this category.
So that’s one good takeaway from this contest, and there are plenty of others we’ll dive into for our weekly good, bad and ugly recap.
