49ers stock watch after Week 14 victory over the Texans

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo
It’s a world of difference with Jimmy Garoppolo under center.
Garoppolo set a career high in passing yards in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears (293) only to best that in Houston by tossing 334. It was the first time San Francisco’s new quarterback had thrown for 300-plus yards in a game.

And while both the Bears and Texans have their own share of woes, each has had a good defense this season, especially at home. Take note of that.
On the day, Garoppolo finished 20-of-33 with his second passing touchdown in a Niners uniform, but against one interception. Overall, though, his performance showcased what an offense can look like with a good quarterback in the mix.
Pro Football Focus, giving him an 86.2 game grade, went into further detail:
"Garoppolo was virtually a one man show for the Niners, working well in the middle of the field and making impressive throws in the face of pressure. There were just a few mistakes throughout, one of them an errant throw under duress resulting in an interception early in the game. Garoppolo threw accurately at the intermediate part of the field, going 8-of-10 for 163 yards on throws traveling 10-19 yards."
Garoppolo bounced back nicely after the pick and flashed some poise when facing a ton of pressure. Especially from the right side — more on that in a moment.
Still, it’s safe to say the Niners appear to have found their franchise guy.
