Boy, what an ugly loss for the Detroit Lions versus the Baltimore Ravens.

With the Minnesota Vikings starting to run away with the NFC North, Week 13 was about as big a must-win game the Lions have had all season. It’s just hard to see them getting into the playoffs, considering how many .500 teams are in the league right now.

The Lions didn’t exactly get overwhelmed by a high-flying Ravens offense — Baltimore’s offense is still boring, if you hadn’t noticed — but rather three critical turnovers hindered chances to come away with a road win.

But there’s a major thing pushing Detroit down in NFL power rankings this week. That was an apparent hand injury suffered by quarterback Matthew Stafford.

X-rays were negative, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but keep an eye on this situation. It could be a season killer for the Lions.
