49ers stock report after 15-14 Week 13 win over the Bears
By Peter Panacy
Defensive Tackle Tank Carradine
Veteran defensive tackle Tank Carradine (ankle) returned off injured reserve to action in Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks, but the Niners listed him as inactive heading into this contest with the Bears.
Instead, the 49ers started 2017 pickup, Leger Douzable, at the left defensive end (big end) position for this contest.
Douzable didn’t make a substantial impact on the stat sheet, but him getting the start over Carradine is interesting, especially considering the latter’s best attributes this season have been against the run and the Bears’ top offensive back is running back Jordan Howard.
Like Carlos Hyde, Carradine is poised to be a free agent after this season. It’s possible the 49ers are leaning towards phasing him out, going with the current regime’s own choices within this unit.
