Linebacker Reuben Foster

It’s pretty clear rookie linebacker Reuben Foster is a game-changing player within the 49ers defense if he can stay healthy.

Week 12 market yet another complete game in Foster’s young season, and he certainly made an impact. The stat sheet is solid enough, as Foster finished with six tackles, second most on Sunday, and led the Niners defense with two quarterback hits.

But Foster’s ranginess is what was really impressive. On one particular play, he ran down Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett, preventing a would-be huge gain.

As long as Foster stays healthy, San Francisco’s defense should remain in pretty good shape down the stretch. He’s that important a player.
