Sit-em: Derek Carr (OAK) vs. Denver

The Oakland Raiders entered 2017 with high hopes, but nothing has panned out for them this season. Derek Carr has been injured and has never gotten into a rhythm. The Raiders are hopeful for a late-season resurgence, but that won’t start this week.

Oakland’s offensive issues have less to do with Carr and more to do with everyone around him. Wide receiver Amari Cooper has fallen off of a cliff statistically this season. Marshawn Lynch has not provided nearly enough in the running game behind an offensive line that does not look the same as last season. Carr is fighting an uphill battle and losing this year.

Somehow with all of that being true, the Raiders have a shot at the playoffs if they start winning. However, this week that struggling offense goes up against the “No Fly Zone” in the Denver Broncos. Denver does not allow quarterbacks to throw for big games. They are allowing just over 200 yards passing per game, and I would be shocked if Carr surpassed that this week.

The Raiders offensive line is going to have its hands full stopping Von Miller. Teams know that they are having a difficult time running the ball, so they are loading up against the pass. That is going to make an already tough matchup even tougher for Carr Week 12. With no teams on bye this week, Carr does not need to be your starting fantasy football quarterback.

Use a quarterback on your bench or off of waivers this week for more results.
