Ah, yes. The one “what if?” moment everyone talks about.

Sure, we have no clue if current Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott would have enjoyed anywhere near the same success if he’d been taken by the 49ers. Either way, it’s fun to at least fathom the idea.

And remember that report saying former Niners head coach Chip Kelly wanted Prescott, only to have Trent Baalke say no?

Instead, the Niners grabbed former LSU cornerback Rashard Robinson who, despite a promising rookie season, is no longer with the team after being traded to the New York Jets in 2017.

Meanwhile, Prescott is a cornerstone signal-caller in Dallas, and the 49ers ended up starting Blaine Gabbert early in 2016. Or was it Glaine Babbert in Week 1?
