No. 5: Running Back Carlos Hyde

It’s hard to determine whether or not running back Carlos Hyde winds up getting his first Pro Bowl nod after this season. His rushing totals are down a bit from this point last year, and there’s a reasonable chance he fails to make the 1,000-yard rushing plateau again.

But Hyde is on pace to have 1,385.6 all-purpose yards from scrimmage in 2017, which is certainly worth pointing out.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan has figured out a way to use the 27-year-old tailback in more ways than just a rusher, which bodes well for Hyde’s chances.

If he does make it in, it’s likely as an alternate. But that’s not out of the question at all. Runners like the Los Angeles Rams’ Todd Gurley and the New Orleans Saints’ Mark Ingram could be playing well into the postseason this year, meaning their attendance at the Pro Bowl is highly unlikely.

Regardless, if Hyde makes the Pro Bowl cut, his asking price will certainly see an uptick in free agency this offseason.
