Offensive Tackle. . New York Giants. . team. 31.

About everything that could go wrong for the New York Giants this season has, and New York is now looking at a possible top-three pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

The Giants could go one of many different directions with the pick. Despite running back Orleans Darkwa’s sudden emergence, a top tailback might be the pick. Or, perhaps, the team looks for a potential long-term replacement for aging quarterback Eli Manning.

Assuming these are priorities, though, perhaps the better idea would be reinforcing what has been a bad offensive line this year.

Left tackle Ereck Flowers has shouldered a good chunk of the blame up front, but he’s not alone. The guard play hasn’t exactly been impressive either.

But an upgrade over Flowers should ensure Manning remains somewhat protected over the final stretch of his career, also providing assistance to what will likely be a high-profile investment to eventually take over for the quarterback at some point down the road.

The Giants aren’t at a full-on rebuild stage yet, but they need a lot of help.
