Sit-em: C.J. Anderson (DEN) vs. Cincinnati

C.J. Anderson is in a timeshare at running back in Denver with Jamaal Charles. Last week was the first time we could officially see the carries being split between the two backs. Anderson is no longer the mystery that fantasy football players have to sole on a weekly basis.

Last week, Anderson got just two more carries than the veteran, Charles. Neither was very effective with their touches. The Denver running game has broken down as the year has developed. The Broncos were hoping to lean on Anderson and their stellar defense this season, but Anderson has struggled as the season has progressed.

The Broncos have had to throw the ball in order to stay in games, and that has led to a disappointing season in Denver. This was a team with playoff aspirations to start the season and now they sit fourth in the AFC West.

The Bengals defense is not necessarily one to avoid in fantasy football, but the Denver running game is. Trusting Anderson to perform like the top back you drafted him as is foolish at this point. He has only gone over 100 yards rushing once this season, and with Charles finally healthy, Anderson won’t get the ball enough to get past that point this week.
