The Jaguars have a simple formula that helps them win games this season — run the ball, don’t turn it over and let an elite defense shut down opponents.

It’s working this season, and Week 10’s win over the Chargers in overtime proved it.

Granted, quarterback Blake Bortles is terrible. And he continued that trend with another two interceptions on Sunday. But it sure helped to have running back Leonard Fournette return from a one-game suspension, as he at least took the pressure off Bortles to do everything.

Fournette’s 33 yards on the ground weren’t much, but his presence changes things.

And Jacksonville’s defense? Well, this group didn’t sack Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on the day. But the defense did create pressure, which is equally effective.

A 6-3 record this deep in the season justifies a nice climb in our NFL power rankings this week.
