49ers’ Week 10 Injury Report

As noted earlier, injuries have played a huge role for the Niners this season.

Some of the key losses have included defensive tackle Arik Armstead (hand), safety Jaquiski Tartt (arm), wide receiver Pierre Garçon (neck) and safety Jimmie Ward (arm), to name a few.

And the flurry of injuries to backups has forced the 49ers to grab whatever they can out of the scrapheap of available players in free agency or the waiver wire.

Needless to say, San Francisco could be shorthanded this week with a long list of non-IR injuries:

Current Injuries Table

Aaron Lynch LB Calf questionable Lynch has been absent from the lineup in the previous three games due to a calf injury and it is unknown if he will return Sunday against the Giants.

Two of the most notable players on the injury report are left tackle Joe Staley (eye) and linebacker Reuben Foster (Achilles).

Staley probably won’t return until after the bye week, meaning fellow offensive tackle Trent Brown gets another start on the left of the offensive line, opening up the door for undrafted rookie Erik Magnuson to start at right tackle.

Foster probably plays, although he’s already had a history of injuries (ankle, ribs) during his oh-so brief NFL career.
