Week 10 vs. New York Giants

Opponent’s Record: 1-7

Perhaps no other team in the NFL has been more of a disappointment than the Giants.

This was a team many pegged to come away with the NFC East crown earlier this season. And while a number of key injuries, like those to wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall, have played a role, there’s clearly more going on here than just meets the injury report.

Various reports suggest Giants head coach Ben McAdoo has lost the locker room, leading to a number of players simply “giving up” halfway through this season.

Perhaps this was evident in New York’s 51-17 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week.

The apparent discontent is showing up in the stat sheet too. The Giants boast the league’s 28th-ranked scoring offense, as well as ranking 29th in points against (207).

Needless to say, McAdoo is on the hot seat.

While the 49ers have had their own offensive issues, especially under center, the Giants are allowing opposing quarterbacks to post passer ratings of 114.2 on the road.

Regardless whether the Niners start quarterback C.J. Beathard or make the switch to Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco’s offense might actually have a decent showing at home this week.

Let’s go with a Week 10 win for the red and gold, shall we?

Prediction: 49ers 24, Giants 21
