No. 1: The 49ers Actually Win

Yes, the 49ers are favorites. And yes, the Giants are traveling all the way out west after a 51-17 drubbing at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams a week ago.

Should New York lose this contest, the franchise would sink to a new low this season.

And things have already gotten that bad, according to Newsday’s Bob Glauber:

"It has become increasingly obvious that Ben McAdoo has lost his team, and the woeful effort put forth in one of the most humiliating losses in franchise history has all but ensured his ouster. Perhaps it means general manager Jerry Reese also will be swept up in what team owner John Mara surely will see as an opportunity to chart a new course."

Glauber concluded head coach Ben McAdoo is no longer in control of the locker room, and this isn’t the first we’ve heard of discontent stemming from the G-Men.

In spite of all the things going wrong with San Francisco this season, there haven’t exactly been too many reports of internal struggle or “giving up.”

More from Niner Noise

Just ask linebacker Reuben Foster who, via the team’s website, said:

"You’ve got to keep going. I’ll be darned if I let this team go down or the coaches let this team go down. We’ve still got will. We’ve still got fight. Don’t count us out. It’s 0-9, but not for long."

Signs point to the Niners players still playing hard for head coach Mike Shanahan and, more specifically, important roles next year. The Giants sure appear to be in a much worse situation.

And that presents an opportunity for San Francisco to come away with its first win on Sunday.
