13. . Quarterback. Wyoming. Josh Allen. 8. player

The Los Angeles Chargers could use some help in their secondary to help bolster an already solid defensive front. But with a top-10 pick and questions concerning quarterback Philip Rivers’ age — 36 years old — the time might be now to take advantage of a still-deep QB prospect class.

Wyoming’s Josh Allen hasn’t helped his NFL Draft stock much this season, although the traits and abilities shown over the past two years have certainly made him worth considering in Round 1.

Much like the Kansas City Chiefs did with rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes this year, the Chargers can afford to take Allen early and let him sit behind an established veteran. Hopefully this gives the Chargers a franchise spark plug in coming years and all those L.A. fans (not so much) something to get excited about in the team’s near future.

And remember, prospective quarterback stock values only rise leading up to draft day.
