124. . 5-2. . Kansas City Chiefs. 3. team

Not long ago, we might have been asking ourselves if the Chiefs could possibly finish the season 16-0. Five straight wins to open up the season, combined with all that rookie running back Kareem Hunt was doing, and this seemed like a real possibility.

Now the Chiefs have lost two games in a row, and they’ll have another AFC West bout with the Broncos in Week 8.

After falling in shootout fashion to the Raiders, who knows how this upcoming matchup goes?

In fairness, Hunt was good and quarterback Alex Smith was excellent. Kansas City’s offense wasn’t the issue in Week 7. Problems fell upon the defense, although one has to give credit to the Raiders for rising to the occasion in a must-win game on Thursday night.

A lot of the trouble came up front, as the Chiefs pass-rushers had difficulty creating pressure on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

The inability to cover Oakland wideout Amari Cooper was another issue, and the same goes for that key touchdown grab by fellow Raiders receiver Michael Crabtree in the waning seconds.

The Chiefs are fine, they just stumbled a bit here.
