NFL power rankings: Week 8 sees the Eagles sitting at No. 1

OK, so the Jaguars beat the Colts, so they don’t exactly get a lot of style points in our NFL power rankings here.
Regardless, shutout wins are always difficult at the NFL level, but the Jags do have a potent defense — one that held Indianapolis to just 15 first downs and a 5-of-15 mark on third downs.
Without rookie running back Leonard Fournette (ankle), the Jags put their ground efforts on the legs of backup runner T.J. Yeldon, who rushed for a sizable 122 yards and a touchdown during the contest.
That was good. But what was even more surprising was seeing quarterback Blake Bortles look like a Pro Bowler, tossing for 330 yards and a touchdown. Not sure if we’ll say that sentence again this season, but it is what it is.
Jacksonville can still beat anyone in the NFL this season. Problem is, the Jaguars can lose to just about anybody too.
