No. 4: Kansas City Chiefs

Unlike the Colts, the Kansas City Chiefs are in win-now mode. At 5-2, their hopes for reaching the Super Bowl have never been higher, yet there are a few defensive woes Kansas City has experienced this season.

One of the big ones has been with free safety Eric Murray — a fourth-round pickup from the 2016 NFL Draft.

Murray owns a 40.0 overall Pro Football Focus grade this season, which is good for 81st out of 108 qualifiers. Teams are taking advantage of this too, targeting him every 6.9 snaps, per PFF.

That’s not good.

Overall, Kansas City has the third-most passing yards allowed (1,902), and the team is in desperate need to find some protection at the back end of its defense.

It’s pretty clear the Chiefs are hurting from All-Pro safety Eric Berry’s absence, and Murray isn’t cut out to be a full-time contributor at this point in his career.
