Niner Noise takes a look at the pending NFL free agents for the San Francisco 49ers in 2018 and determines whether or not each should be re-signed this offseason.

2018 NFL free agency is a long ways away, but that doesn’t mean the San Francisco 49ers can avoid exploring whether or not some of their own pending free agents are deserving of contract extensions.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, appearing on KNBR 680’s Murph and Mac Show, the Niners have already engaged in contract-extension talks with some of their pending free agents.

A good number of these players are holdovers from the previous regime under former general manager Trent Baalke. And while current GM John Lynch has had no issues parting ways with returning players since taking over earlier this year, it might be beneficial to ensure some continuity with guys hitting the open market.

In this slideshow, we’ll take a look at each of these pending free agents and decide whether or not it’s in the 49ers’ best interests to either extend or re-sign them for 2018.

A lot could change between now and free agency, of course. Players could be traded, cut or whatever. But based off what we know now, let’s see how accurate we can get.

Starting off with the restricted and exclusive-right free agents.
