1-5. . New York Giants. 29. team. 31.

The New York Giants fall a spot in our NFL power rankings, although to no fault of their own. It’s just there’s no way to justify moving New York ahead of any of the teams listed from here onwards.

And a 1-5 record is still bad, despite the Giants’ 23-10 upset win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. Win another game or two in coming weeks, and we’ll talk.

Without wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle), Brandon Marshall (ankle) and Sterling Shephard (ankle), New York’s offense still managed to put together some impressive drives, notably thank to rookie tight end Evan Engram.

All this against a strong Denver defense, so kudos to the Giants ending their losing streak and gaining some semblance of respectability this season.

The Giants defense finally showed up too, and it’s possible this trend continues in Week 7 against an inconsistent and struggling Seattle Seahawks offense.
