Forget all that talk about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger not having it anymore. And cross off all the worries about the Steelers defense being in serious trouble.

The Steelers’ 19-13 victory on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs wasn’t exactly an offensive showcase, but doing so against a tough Chiefs defense says enough about what Pittsburgh is capable of doing.

It helped having running back Le’Veon Bell back on point, rushing for a whopping 179 yards and ensuring the Steelers won the time-of-possession battle easily.

Yet the biggest story for Pittsburgh was how well its defense performed against a multi-faceted Chiefs offense.

If the Steelers can replicate performances like these down the stretch, there’s little reason to assume they’ll be represented deep in the playoffs once again.
