A week after losing defensive tackle J.J. Watt and EDGE Whitney Mercilus to season-ending injuries, the Texans managed to bounce back nicely with an easy win over the Browns in Week 6.

Injuries like those could devastate a team and its momentum. But Houston has its own storyline worth watching this season — the maturation of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Watson looks like no rookie. Instead, he’s been polished and poised on a team still loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. He tossed for 225 yards with three touchdowns against one interception, adding another 23 yards on the ground.

If Watson’s play can continue at this level, the Texans should be in great position to contend for the oh-so weird AFC South.
