Sit-em: Ty Montgomery (GB) @ Minnesota

I am a big fan of Ty Montgomery, but this week he finds himself on the sit-em side of my list. Coming off of a rib injury, this may not be the week to rely on Montgomery in fantasy football.

Montgomery faces an uphill battle in his return to the lineup this weekend against Minnesota. A division rival with a defense as good as the Vikings would have made it hard to trust in him even if he wasn’t coming off of an injury. One solid hit from a Vikings defender and Montgomery could easily re-injure those ribs in Week 6.

Another thing to take into account when setting your lineup this week is just how well running back Aaron Jones ran in Montgomery’s absence in Week 5.

Jones had an impressive 125 yards rushing against the Cowboys last Sunday. Green Bay is not going to be able to ignore that kind of production. Through the first three weeks, Montgomery was a work horse back, but that is not going to be the case in his return. Jones has earned a minimum of 10 touches, and that means less chances for Montgomery.

I am on a wait-and-see plan with the Green Bay backfield. None of the runners are good plays this week in a tough matchup. Until we know more about how they are going to divide carries, avoid this situation for fantasy football.
