Credit the Washington Redskins for hanging with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

Despite the 29-20 loss, Washington can feel pretty good about knocking off the Oakland Raiders the week before and having a serious chance in the fourth quarter to beat the undefeated Chiefs.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins was 14-of-24 with two touchdowns and also managed to pick up 38 yards on seven rushing attempts — a facet which kept the Redskins in contention late.

Ironically enough, Cousins was Washington’s leading rusher.

Tight end Vernon Davis also had a solid game, netting 89 receiving yards, including a long of 69.

Washington suffered a number of injuries on the defensive side, though, so it’s a good thing a bye week is on the horizon.
