30. . 2-2. . New York Jets. 23. team

Everyone in the league thought you were trying to tank this season, Jets. What’s happening?

OK, so beating the Jaguars isn’t exactly the kind of signature win head coach Todd Bowles would hope for, but New York is now 2-2 and shockingly looking like a feisty bunch a quarter of the way through the season.

Quarterback Josh McCown wasn’t great, throwing for 224 yards and zero touchdowns against one interception. But he didn’t have to be great.

When running back Bilal Powell rushes for 163 yards and a touchdown, that’s all that matters. Oh, and fellow runner Elijah McGuire added 93 additional yards and a touchdown of his own.

While we couldn’t be any further from considering the Jets a division contender, we should certainly view them as a riser in NFL power rankings this week.

And there’s a real possibility the Jets climb to 3-2 with a road contest against the Browns in Week 5.

Weird.
