49ers Pass Rush
While DeForest Buckner has been a bright spot for San Francisco’s defense, the Niners pass rush has seemingly been absent for much of 2017.
Outside of a three-sack performance against the Seahawks in Week 2 — mind you, Seattle owned the worst-ranked offensive line entering this season — the 49ers haven’t been able to muster much of any pressure against opposing quarterbacks.
The Rams O-line isn’t great either, and yet San Francisco recorded zero sacks on Thursday and managed just two quarterback hits.

Veteran EDGE Elvis Dumervil almost had his 100th career sack, but it was wiped out by a penalty.
Throughout the game, one had to wonder where edge rushers Arik Armstead and Aaron Lynch were. Armstead had just one tackle on the game, and Lynch was held off the stat sheet altogether.
It’s worth pointing out the 49ers didn’t make too many efforts to add a true pass-rusher this offseason. Dumervil fits the mold, but he’s a situational guy at this point in his career.
And neither Armstead nor Lynch have played with any sort of consistency over three weeks.
The lack of a pass rush could be something plaguing the Niners all season.
