The San Francisco 49ers nearly pulled off an incredible comeback win in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football, only to lose to the Los Angeles Rams 41-39. Niner Noise dishes out our latest player stock watch.

Well, at least fans can say the San Francisco 49ers are entertaining this year.

The Niners dropped their Week 3 prime-time showdown with the Los Angeles Rams 41-39, nearly coming from two scores down in the fourth quarter.

It didn’t happen, though, and head coach Kyle Shanahan now sits at 0-3 heading into a three-game road trip.

On the positive side of things, San Francisco’s offense finally opened up. Over the last two weeks, the Niners managed a combined 12 points in games against the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks. A 39-point effort is certainly something to celebrate regardless of the context.

But on the flip side, the 49ers defense couldn’t stop anybody. L.A. had two 100-yard receivers, Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods, and running back Todd Gurley had 113 yards rushing and three combined touchdowns (two on the ground and one through the air).

Nope. Not a good look for the defense.

With the dust settling from the exciting-yet-disappointing contest, let’s take a look at some player/position stock after the team’s efforts in Week 3 in order to gauge how well this rebuild is going three weeks into the 2017 season.

And we’ll start with a player we’d ideally like not to have on the bad side of this list, linebacker NaVorro Bowman.
