Wide Receiver Marquise Goodwin

For the second week in a row, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin dropped a pass that would have changed the course of the game in San Francisco’s favor.

Last week, it was a deep bomb from quarterback Brian Hoyer that slipped right through Goodwin’s hands. Against Seattle, Goodwin was wide open on a 2nd-and-6 at the Seahawks 16-yard line. Rather than catch the ball, then turning to run, Goodwin turned his head before reeling in the pass:

The ball fell harmlessly at Goodwin’s feet, eventually leading to a Niners field goal.

Goodwin, known for his speed, hasn’t made much of an impact for San Francisco aside from his preseason efforts. During the game, Goodwin had just three catches for 26.

But this drop proved to be the most costly.
